Dr. Neil W. Polhemus

PolhemusDr. Polhemus is Chief Technology Officer for Statgraphics Technologies, Inc. and directs the development of STATGRAPHICS. He received his B.S.E. and Ph.D. degrees from the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Princeton University, under the tutelage of Dr. J. Stuart Hunter. Dr. Polhemus spent two years as an assistant professor in the Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and six years as an assistant professor in the Engineering School at Princeton University.

Dr. Polhemus founded Statistical Graphics Corporation in 1980 to develop and promote the STATGRAPHICS software program. In 1983, he founded Strategy Plus, Inc., which developed EXECUSTAT for DOS. Dr. Polhemus founded NWP Associates, Inc., in 1993 to develop STATLETS, a set of Java applets which permit statistical data analysis over the Internet. In 1999 development of STATGRAPHICS was assumed by Statpoint Technologies, Inc.

Dr. Polhemus lives in northern Virginia with his wife Caroline and is the proud father of four sons: Christopher, Gregory, Leland, and Michael.

Mr. George Dyson

georgeGeorge Dyson has been actively involved in both teaching and mentoring Six Sigma and Design for Six Sigma directly with domestic and International businesses. Recently, George was invited to participate in teaching Six Sigma and Design for Six Sigma for General Electric. George is also the area Six Sigma representative for Statpoint Technologies, Inc. Prior to his current position, George accumulated 33 years of professional experience with United Technologies and General Electric Aircraft Engines. During his career at GE, he provided statistical support, managed teams, and developed new courses and patent applications to solve a wide variety of engineering and manufacturing problems, including new process development, Reliability/Quality and Six Sigma training and project support. His individual Six Sigma and Design for Six Sigma projects saved GE $1.5 Million. George holds an Associate in Applied Science, a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MS Degree in Engineering Management. He has taught undergraduate courses in Engineering Statistics and holds instructor certifications from GE and Motorola (Six Sigma). He has an Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Air Force Reserves 440th Troop Carrier Wing, Staff Sergeant.

Dr. Root Routledge

rootDr. Routledge is president of Alpine Analytics, located in Durango, Colorado. He has a PhD in Industrial Engineering, an MBA, an MS in Statistics (with emphasis in ecology, environmental science & natural resource management), and a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Root has over 30 years of scientific, engineering, business and management experience in industry and government. He was on the industrial engineering faculty at Oregon State University. Prior to obtaining his PhD at the age of 45, he worked for 20 years in such leading organizations as Hewlett-Packard, Weyerhaeuser and the US Forest Service in a variety of functions including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance and supplier quality management, materials and logistics, long-range planning, environmental research and natural resource management. Dr Root founded Alpine Analytics in 1991 and has been an industrial consultant and trainer for the past 10 years.
