Trellis Plots and Other New Features in Statgraphics 19.3

This webinar highlights new features introduced in Statgraphics Centurion release 19.3. Of special interest are 4 new procedures for producing trellis plots, which display data in multiple views based on 1 or 2 conditioning variables. The trellis plots may contain various types of graphs, including histograms, donut plots, regression fits, and contour plots.

Quantile Regression

This webinar describes the application of Quantile Regression using Statgraphics 19. Unlike standard multiple regression procedures in which the model is used to predict the mean response, quantile regression models may be used to predict any percentile. Median regression is a special case where the quantile to be predicted is the 50th percentile. Both quantitative and categorical predictors may be used in the models.

A Collection of New  Procedures for Data Visualization

Version 19 contains several new procedures for data visualization. These include:

  1. Waterfall plots (V19.1)
  2. Missing data plots (V19.1)
  3. Barcharts with lines (V19.1)
  4. Dynamic Pareto charts (V19.2)
  5. Dynamic radar/spider plots (V19.2)
  6. Spiral plots for time series data (V19.2)

This webinar demonstrates the use of each of these procedures. Examples include a dynamic Pareto chart illustrating changes in which countries have the highest rate of COVID-19 cases, a dynamic radar plot depicting changes in the amount of sea ice at each pole, and a spiral plot showing seasonal fluctuations in outside temperature.

Modeling Zero-Inflated Count Data

When modeling data consisting of counts, it is not uncommon to observe more zeroes than would be expected by typical Poisson or negative binomial distributions. In a zero-inflated count distribution, an additional term is added to account for these extra structural zeroes. This webinar demonstrates 2 new procedures added to Statgraphics 19 for working with zero-inflated distributions, one for fitting such distributions to a sample of data and another for estimating regression models where the dependent variable has extra zeroes.

Analyzing Data from Stability Studies

This webinar describes a new procedure added to Statgraphics 19 for analyzing data from stability studies. Stability studies are commonly used by pharmaceutical and other types of companies to estimate the rate of product degradation and to establish shelf life. Measurements are typically made on samples from multiple batches at different points in time. Of primary interest is estimating the time at which the prediction limits from the degradation model cross the specification limits for the product.

Fitting Mixtures of Gaussian Distributions

This webinar will describe new procedures added to Statgraphics 19 for fitting mixtures of Gaussian distributions to both univariate and bivariate data. Mixture distributions are useful for fitting data that have more than one mode and for data that are generated by more than one mechanism. The procedures use a numerical procedure to estimate the values of the means, standard deviations and covariance (for bivariate data).

Enhancements to the Design of Experiments in Statgraphics 19

This webinar will describe the enhancements to the Design of Experiments Wizard introduced in Statgraphics 19. One important enhancement is the construction of alias optimal designs, which trade a small reduction in D-optimality for a reduction in the confounding introduced by effects that are not in the current statistical model. The webinar will also demonstrate a new feature for adding additional runs to an experiment that has already been run in a manner that optimizes the overall properties of the augmented design.
